About Me

My name is Samantha Coyne. I grew up in Hampton, Virginia. I am the oldest of all of my siblings and cousins. In Spring of 2021, I will also be a first generation college graduate.

When arriving at Old Dominion University, I became very interested in the activities offered in the Webb Center. I gained a lifelong hobby of billiards pool, as well as lifelong relationships with the people I shared this community with. Experiencing this environment exposed me to a vast amount of cultures, points of view, and numerous learning experiences in and out of the game. Being surrounded by these new experiences gave me a true understanding of how different people can be from one another, and how to manage myself accordingly.

From my own experience, there is not a very good reputation with management, in any field. Management can be seen as mean, or strictly about business, causing employees to not be as dedicated to their organization as they could be. Managers should be investing in their employees, because those employees will do the same when it means the most. I believe I am outgoing and adaptable enough to influence the business management world.
