What is LeADERS?

Old Dominion University's LeADERS Program connects a student's courses to the skills employers are looking for. These skills link through areas of: Leadership, Academic Internship, Diversity, Entrepreneurship, Research, and Service Learning.

This LeADERS ePortfolio expresses my knowledge and experience through Leadership, Academic Internship, Diversity, Entrepreneurship, and Service Learning.

Program Reflection

I joined this program to enhance my knowledge and to differentiate myself from others in my field. The variety of classes involved really pushed me to act on this opportunity fully.

One thing that has been a big obstacle for me is group projects. There has been a lot of different work ethics and ideas that did not mix very well, but having patience, effective communication, and time management has helped to work around those issues, and prepared me for the uncertainties of working with others in the future.

This program has also given me the confidence to feel like a true leader, and given me the skills to act as one. I speak louder and with pride.

I have not yet determined what industry I would like to work within. I would like to learn as much as I can, and use those skills to further my career. My main career goals are to learn as much as others are willing to teach me, and make a positive impact on any and everyone around me.
