Social Media Manager - Whitt Corporation
Whitt Corporation is a small business located in Williamsburg, Virginia, that offers home remodeling and renovation services to people in the local area. My responsibilities involved creating/rearranging social media pages, creating social media content, observing and interpreting quantitative data, managing all posts, and engaging with followers. Management was very helpful during my internship by giving constructive criticism about any ideas that I may have had, being open to new ideas, and sharing their own experience from their long management career.
This data shows the demographics of the people viewing Whitt Corporation's advertisements or other posts on social media represented in a bar graph. This information was used to determine which content worked best with our audience, and to help us understand their interactions with the posts.
The quantitative data was also used to track how well the social media pages were doing with actions such as new followers, more interactions, etc.

One of my first responsibilities was to organize the Facebook page that already existed, but was not being used to the best of its ability. Beforehand, it was unorganized and visually unappealing, making it a little bit harder for people to find what they may be looking for. Their cover photo was made by adding contact information and the company logo to a photo of theirs that represents the service provided. All existing content was also organized by room and functionality.

Information shown was discussed with management and translated into an easier to understand description of the company. (3) Example of posts created on Facebook to meet their specified target market.
This internship with Whitt Corporation introduced me into a team structure as it is in a business, and also helped me to communicate with consumers, prioritizing time management skills, analyze quantitative data, and make decisions/solve problems.
